Whacky science experiments, wilderness survival, cooking, sewing, woodworking, storytelling—you never know what incredible new skills you’ll gain at the Wildwood Laboratory, with Balsam Lake Library’s resident Mad Scientist, Sam!
The Wildwood Laboratory is a perfect after-school program for hands-on learners and a great addition to any homeschool curriculum. Check out the schedule, and trek your way to the Library every Thursday after school!!
- JAN 9 – Sugar Snow! Rock Candy creation and the science of Crystals.
- JAN 16 – Blizzards and Blackouts: History of Northcountry winters at the Polk County History Museum
- JAN 23 – Fire and Ice: Crafting Ice Luminarias
- JAN 30 – Jack Frosting: How to make three kinds of frosting, and a cake to put under them!
